I don't blame you for having a thing for original paint.... that's like finding the holy grail.
I think the car looks great overall. The roof and deck lid could probably be blended in without looking like it was repainted....but then again you have the mismatched front end paint.
Personally, I would enjoy the car as long as you can. Down the road you always have the option to repaint the whole car.
Honestly I'm having too much fun enjoying it and driving it to worry about the paint. All the brakes will be gone through tomorrow, she is scheduled for exhaust work on Monday, and then a nice slumber in a climate controlled garage. I honestly hate to put it away but no way will I let it sit under a cover during a Chicago winter.

Sugar called - it wants it's sweetness back
-> that is a mighty sweet car
It's great when people appreciate and preserve originality.

Thanks! There are too many of these butchered with Chevy small blocks etc these days. This car will stay original to the teeth except for a gear change. 2.14 is not acceptable in anything. But at least I can run the 200c without lockup and only be at 2200 rpm at 70 mph.

RV kit and trans fluid change on the agenda as well. Shifts tight as a drum at 4200 rpm WOT. I'm not a racer and just looking to tighten up the shifts part throttle. Anyone have a good recommendation for a shift kit for these old transmissions?

Good for you! You have the right attitude. I can respect your doing the utmost to continue to care for the car and put it away for the winter. As we all know, winter beats the crap out of any car, between ice, snow, salt, and potholes.

Man I remember that color combo was everywhere on mid 80's GM cars and it hardly exists anymore. Very cool car!

TransGo makes a good shift kit. Make sure the TV cable is adjusted properly before you open it up. You can fit upto 3.08 gears in your 7.5 rear iirc. But once you get in there, yoi might as well upgrade to 28 spline axles, posi.... Its a slippery slope. My Regal was gonna stay original as well. Then I swapped out the old radio for a tape deck, then the factory power antenna got broken, then the v6 exploded.
Regardless of what you do, you've got a great car. :D
