1986 regal limited build

Is it a 383 or a 400? those are different engines. Standard SBC motor mounts AND frame mounts will fit. idk who sells frame mounts, but motor mounts should be at any parts store.

I think he means a 383 from a 400, not from a 350 not that it maters they are physically the same.

How do you get a 383 from a 400? A know you can destroke a 400 to 377.

Not advisable but .060 over - A stroked 350 will yield 377 also.

Hooker Comp & Super Comps(Jegs sells there version Comp) - I liked the coated Dyno Max but I don't know if they still make them. Would recommend Shoenfeld (my favorite) but they won't work with AC. I've heard Patriots work well but never used them - maybe someone will pipe up. If you are under 450 Hp 1 5/8 tubes will work. What ever you choose check the application for fitment.

How did you get a 383 from a 400? I know a destroked 400 is a 377 with a .030... is it a destroked 400 that's .060 over? That's 382.96 cu. Chevy 400 is 4.125 bore and 3.75 stroke, you destroke it with a 350 crank if I remember right, which makes it 4.125 (stock bore) x 3.48 is a 372. +.060 over is 382.9. Just confused is all.

The ONLY other way to make a 383 is a 350 chevy with a 400 crank bored .030 over.
