The core can't be worth more that $20 or $30, it'd be worth more to you to keep it to build. The guys on here can teach you alot on how to build it so it'll be a strong transmission when you finish it. I would not trust another used transmission that's $150 especially with the way you "use" it....:)
Adding to what Wraith said, this is really my only option right now. In a month I will be in a better financial situation to where I could afford to rebuild one. And even if he only values the cores at $30, I have two, $60 off of $150 is nearly 1/3 of the price. Plus he included filter kits and my choice of any random bits he has lying around, kickdown cables, dipsticks, etc.

Good thought about the holidays, just in case he is thinking about asking Santa for a transmission I hope he doesn't get lazy on the keyboard and ask for a transmission...:D
I can't even say the word "trans" or "transmission" without giggling anymore. Dammit Bruce.

I apologize if it sounds like your guy's advice is going in one ear and out the other, but I just don't have the money to rebuild one. Plain and simple.[/QU

Well if ya have to dance with the shoes ya got on, then so be it.

If it were me, I'd save one of those cores to build later. Of course where I'm at, the last TH350 I bought costed $250 and there wasn't a lot of them to choose from. It lasted about a year behind the 4.3 in the Monte Carlo. I could imagine how long it would have lasted with some power. Lol.

Keep one of the rebuildable cores you have and build it. $30 for a core isn't worth it when you can spend $250 on a rebuild kit, a weekend building it and a day doing the swap. Regardless of your financial situation right now it isn't worth it to set yourself back in the near future when you aren't as tight.

Kit I was looking at is $100 more, but has way more stuff it it. I figure if I'm ever gonna dive into a transmission, I'm replacing everything. http://www.bulkpart.com/2/product/AHP47001R-K-BOX-1.html
