Well as some of you know or have seen the post on other socials my crippling Carcaine addiction struck again.
I went back to my home town for a visit with family and ended up dragging back another Regal, Otherwise it was destined for the scrap yard. So for the cool price of $400 I picked up this running/driving beauty. Judging by the wear on the pedals we figure it only has 73K miles

The first step after unloading was wash the neglect off it from sitting for over 7 years.

As soon as I hit the sides of the car with soap some of the rust embedded into the light blue stripe began to run down the side of the car. It was at this point I decided to switch from a mild soap and went with Comet and 0000 steel wool.
Nearly all of the rust staining pulled off the paint.

Here is a little before and after on the drivers side for comparison.

There is still lots of character left in the paint and I absolutely love the look. I still need to clean it up some more and clean off the glue where the bumper strips were.

Next up for cleaning will be the Interior and under hood....

I did take my M18 blower and evicted as many spiders as I could but this is where I stopped for the day.

Nice score! Love to a see a regal saved!

You got a great deal on that, around here that would be a $1000 car and not be running and would be missing a bunch of crap.

Is that dash really in as nice of shape as it looks in the pictures? That's worth $400 right there.
I can tell you'll clean it up and it's gonna have a better second half of life than the first half.
It is in quite good shape. It has a few cracks but overall not bad. Ill get some better interior shots when I dig into into it.

565bbchevy Its very complete. Original bill of sale and warranty card. All the wire wheel caps, but missing 1 of the wheel cap mounts. Has a winterfront and bug screen for the front of the grill as well.
It does have a hole in the driver side floor board I will be addressing shortly, as well as a crack on the driver door near the mirror. May explain the broken glass? not sure on that one yet.

My main focus has been swapping out parts I need/want to keep off my 84 before I move on from it. I don't have near as many parts to swap over as I thought I would. Just the front bumper and bumper fillers, This car's front bumper on the pass. side was pressed into the bumper filler for many years and has permanently distorted it's shape. the driver side bumper filler is also in fairly poor condition.

Hopefully tonight when it cools off a bit Ill swap over my Xtreme wheels onto this car and wash down the engine compartment.

That's actually a pretty common area on the driver's door to stress crack

I got a late start to the day. Had to watch the MTB Word cup Downhill finals before I could accomplish anything today. It turned out to be way to hot and smokey this afteroon. Had to wait for the evening to really do much.

Hope to give it a good wash under the hood and maybe start on the interior tomorrow.
