Hot Rod Power Tour 2025

Been following the FB group and it ridiculousness with this. I may not go this year, was hoping it was somewhere else and we are planning to try and get to Drag week. Not sure I can afford both!

I see Motortrend is a sponsor. Wonder what personalitys will be there with the TV production side done.

I know some will go just to go. Some may be there through other manufacturers.

Last year a bunch from the Motortrend shows were there.

Not bitching, I will save that for the FB group😁. Don't know how you could make a route through those areas interesting. Three days of drag racing, two days of static car show, maybe one day of autocross, mostly boring drives- I'll pass. I hope everyone who goes has a safe and enjoyable event.

Its appealing to me because its not a long drive from western pa.

If power tour came through western pa it would probably be equally boring.

Of all the times I could probably do something like this, we've already got commitments for this time frame as of three months ago. Same for the OCA meet in Bowling Green this year, and the H/OCA meet is out for us as well as it butts up against yet another venue we're already written in for. I'm not very happy camper about that. Not a major car show attendee anymore as it is, but I'd have liked to hit up at least one major Olds/car event this year.

EVERY type of "power tour" is boring. Until it isn't. It's the fact that people from all over the U.S. (and even further) come together for one huge car event. Could you imagine it coming through your downtown area? You can't play that on an X-box or Playstation.

At least it's north of the Mason Dixon line for the first time in while. My biggest gripe is that it's been in TN for at least 1-2 stops for the last 7 of 10 years. Few years ago they went to Florida, who wants to go to Florida in June in an old car without AC... Call me a grouch... Blah.

My complaint has always been post 2018 power tour has significantly reduced their region span. They used to get out to TX, MO, WI, NB, now it seems like if it's not between the corners of eastern IL/southern MI, Virginia, Georgia, or southern MO it's not happening.

But timing is getting tough. I might have considered the Chicago/Michigan stops but it's a week before Sick summer which I am attending so I'm out. Not going to do 2 week long car events back to back,

Honestly doing something like Sick ward or driving along to spectate Drag Week is better than power tour IMO.

I can see the gripe about the road trip days too. I did Indy-St Louis-Champaign in 2021 and really only enjoyed the STL to Champaign drive. The Indy to STL drive was boring but at least Indy had the track museum to stop at. I am also partial to back roads cruises.

I wonder how it'll be overall with Motor Trend cutting back on printing issues & pulling the plug on the in house TV/on line production. Maybe it'll be one of the last big events

Last year was the first time I made it, and with my brother. We've ALWAYS wanted to do it, and only bought long hauler tickets last minute on a whim. No BS everything else was on the fly and we broke everyday. The enjoyment was running into people, helping them, them helping us, the hotel parking lot wrenching, car shows, and parties. The cruising was fine, we didn't race but prepped the car to race before the trip.

I ran into family I have never met in person, friends from online forums, including this one. People from the FB communities as well.

If it weren't for timing this year, along with drag week in Sept, it would have been a lock in for me. I am in Central PA so the trip is not all that bad.
