What did you buy for your Gbody today? (2025)

I run two JL Audio 10w1s. The sealed box I used for them is small enough to fit on the top "shelf" in th trunk. I run a JL500:1 and they sound great.
Those are what I’m looking at running, ran to 4ohms I’ve got 500 watts which should be perfect.

If I ever get the itch for more, the 95 is 1 ohm stable and produces 1200 watts at that resistance. Some Dayton HO’s would be necessary at that level though.

I just ordered a New steering box for the '80 at RockAuto, USA STANDARD GEAR ZSG7560, shows a ratio of 3-3.5 lock to lock so that should be an improvement over the original Saginaw. Also ordered a new rag joint just in case, the one in the car doesn't seem sloppy but may as well change it out while I'm there. Should have both by Friday.

The pin striping has been put off for the time being as the weather has finally turned "winter" and not worth the aggravation of towing it across town. I'll wait for a good stretch of weather and reschedule the job.

Ordered a new black carpet from rockauto. Hoping to have interior back together soon. Any tips are welcomed on correct way to get it installed and holes cutout

Will be interested in your experience, was thinking about changing mine as well.

I am replacing the original Saginaw box because the one I have is sloppy with no more room for adjustment. My car came with the cheaper box without the 4 bolt cap on the sector shaft. Will report back on the new box once I install it and get in some miles, hopefully this works out. 🤞

Kept getting sniped out for Alpines I wanted, so went with my original choice, a Sanyo FXCD 500.
I've heard good things, plus tape AND cd in a single din package is neat.

New in box too.

I'm not a full on stereo guy, but the factory type deck just isn't cutting it, eq or not.

check the manufacturing date, that sticker looks like it was sold at Fry's and they shut down about 3-4 yrs ago

The new steering box and rag joint showed up today. Hopefully be able to put aside a day in the next week or so and get it done. No major rush unfortunately, winter has arrived and the roads around here have high blood pressure with all the damn salt on the roads so the car isn’t going anywhere.

Bought a pypes exhaust system 2.5 inch ss from the headers back with the x pipe, was delivered yesterday, looking forward to installing it but first need to fix the issue with the header hitting the shift linkage.
I still say these are the good problems to have… just means more garage time.
