IIRC there where some bleed over 1 piece mains that had mech pump boss. Not common but not unheard-ofThis's my 1st one piece rear main,had anyone ever noticed how bulky the fuel pump part of the block is and the pad that usually houses the i.d number stamping is very short? If I remember all my older ones were not like this.

Battery in the back?took off all the accessories off the front of the motor and painted them, changed the alternator, removed the intake manifold to clean underneath as animals / rats were living in there but thankfully nothing was chewed up. Cleaned up the wiring, mounted the PCM, relays, fuses, changed the heater blower motor and resistor, and did some other small stuff. Next step will be to complete the interior. Then I need to tune the engine, I will attempt to do that myself. Then take the car for inspection so I can start driving it in the spring. Need to make a cover for the radiator / fans. Here is the current state of the engine bay:

I do remember them looking like that, until my Regal build I have not built a SBC in decades since I was only running Big Blocks in my Monte.I'm used to seeing them looking like this
