While browsing the net for 1 3/4" headers for when the time comes to "shoehorn in a 383 HEMI"(cannonball movie reference)... i came across "southwest speed" site that looks exactly where the 1 5/8" headers im currently sportin that came with the malibu.

They also sell a variety of other performance parts, and i came accross their WILWOOD calipers, apparently they offer stock design thats a direct bolt in to the original sterring knuckle, they are of two piston design, al be it smaller than the one large piston design, would that really make any difference?

1 piston design(pic 1) vs 2 piston design(pic 2)

the 2 piston will only offer more even clamping force because they are smaller . but normally the bigger the hydraulic piston the stronger it is. so you could say it would give a tiny bit more stopping power but not worth it over all.

I have the Wilwoods with the larger single piston and they work very well.

Nycutlass..... billet aluminum body, lighter weight. should help dissapate more heat.

56BBchevy.... like the first one shown out of the two pictures i posted?

A nice addition for the rear brake setup im sure.

Larger single pistons also move the piston center more imboard to the hub and loose leverage. In other words the greater clamping force with a larger single piston is partly negated by the reduction of leverage. Multi piston calipers are an attempt to increase combined piston area while minimizing or preventing leverage loss.

why not just swap in some junkyard calipers (2-piston) from a 99-05 4dr Blazer? it's a direct swap and the same size as stock

Those 2piston calipers will bolt directly to the malibu steering knuckle?
