2 Piston Brake Calipers

You will need 2wd Blazer knuckles.
Always a catch... figured as much.

Its a two fold upgrade... bolt in wheel hubs hubs and 2piston brakes for the front.

its a very simple swap . no catch to it or stupid modifications. bolt it in and go. the differences in stopping power is huge. not to mention the parts are available in any auto parts store. this is what you need the attached picture.

Some people on here have ran these larger single piston cast calipers with good results and it is just a simple caliper swap.
These part numbers were posted by member Macguyver from SouthSide Machine Performance.
Saying they are the "best bang for your buck".

I said that jokingly... i already knew the swap required the 99-2005 jimmy 2wd steering knuckles.

When i started this thread... it was just out of pure couriosity about the wilwood units, i never knew two smaller piston in an OEM aluminum housing for the malibu existed.

Personally, my malibu OEM single piston front calipers are working great, after i just changed out a bad master cylinder and did the one man brake bleed of all the brakes, the breaking power feels so much better than in my 2005 GMC SCSB truck with the same disc/drum setup and ABS to be honest.

565bbchevy - those are nice peices, never even knew those even existed till now, well, i didnt own my maibu till 3 1/2 yrs ago, figure $200 for direct bolt in units versus finding a clean pair of jimmy steering knuckles for $350+ w/o the back sheilds online somewhere, i surely will not find them anywhere here locally, then having to get new calipers and new brake hoses.

EDIT: My bigger question is... if i ever did the jimmy steering knuckle swap, what says about the master cylinder, wont i need a larger capacity unit to compensate for the dual piston calipers?

no i never did that to mine works perfectly fine with stock master cylinder. in fact i have 4 wheel disk on my car with the stock master cylinder.

A very important thing to note is that at the age G bodies are at now, they will likely require new brake hoses just from extreme age regardless of miles. Even if one is keeping stock brakes. Over time, brake hoses swell internally and block fluid flow diminishing brake performance and a major safety issue.

nycutlass - thats good to know, because of how small the malibu master cylinder looks versus what the newer SUV master cylinder size is, besides, i know theres no room and will have a hood clearence issue.

Clone TIE Pilot - i've already planned to replace the two front brake lines along with the rear brake line due to the age of my malibu, even thought they are in pretty decent shape looking on the outside, thankfully they are still available new and im going with ACDelco units.

whenever I take ownership of a new car I automatically change certain parts no matter how it looks.

A stock master with a larger volume caliper will result in a deeper pedal. Not an issue if you don’t mind it , but an easy swap for the small bore booster is a Riviera master.

It f you change the rears to disc and the fronts to dual piston, then a caliper swap is a must if you want to have normal brake pedal feel.
