I guess it's worth a shot :) Here's my '85 Cutlass Salon, it's my first car and pretty much all original. She's not perfect by any means but she's a pretty reliable daily driver with around 112,000 miles on her now. My plans include a frame off restoration with a Rocket 455 and a 2004-r with...
Welcome to the site :D Beautiful Hurst/Olds, an '83 has always been my dream g body. I have to agree with you on people not knowing what these cars are, I can't tell you how many times I've been complimented on my "Grand National"
I'm so excited that these are going to be reproduced :D I was looking at possibly getting a B&M Quick Silver but it just doesn't seem right to use anything but a Hurst in an Olds, they were just way too expensive. I guess it's time to start saving my money.
The T-Type looks pretty decent but that cardboard raises a big red flag. Unless you are absolutely set on the T-Type I would stick with the Cutlass, it's just too big of a risk if that car has major issues, especially If you have to sell the Cutlass first. I'd hate to have you end up in a...
Had the same thing happen to me, after trying most of the previous suggestion I ended up having to bite the bullet and drop the pan. It sucks having to do so much work because of a stupid problem. :blam:
When I was younger I was really into Mopars (still am) and depending on the day my favorite car was a '69 Plymouth Roadrunner or a '70 Plymouth Superbird. Once my love for Oldsmobiles solidified my favorite car bacame a '71 442 W-30, but some close runner ups are a '69 AMC Hurst SC/Rambler, '69...
I know POR 15 has Olds gold engine paint listed on there site, never seen it in person though. If I can recall there are several people on here that have used Dupli-color/VHT universal gold that looked pretty close.
It's the opposite for me, everyone thinks it's a Monte or just because it's black a Grand National only to be disappointed when I tell them it's a Cutlass.
When I first bought my Cutlass I hated the chrome rocker trim, to me it looked like it was just stuck on by GM for the hell of it. But after owning it for a couple of years I've actually grown to like it, however when I restore it the chrome is being removed simply because I don't want to deal...
 I paid $3000 for mine and the rear rails are in bad shape, the windshield leaks, and the motor gave up two weeks later. Even then it was still considered a deal because the body was straight and rust free.
