how could i tell if i have a bad windshield wiper motor

A late response, but a problem I found- Check the grounding strap. On my wife's Cutlass it was corroded almost in half, it would make the wipers work then stop, then start again. I used a piece of copper wire as a temporary replacement, a new strap is waiting to be installed!

    Noob question#2!

OK, now a bodywork question. I know the frame is going to come out from under the car, and I see in a couple other threads that it's easier to pull the front end as a clip- sounds good so far! But I need to replace the trunk floor. Should it be after the body is back on the new frame and...

    Noob Question #1

No Problem!! I don't know a whole lot about GM's, so any help is appreciated! But if I can get the dealer to do keys and it costs less than one testicle, I'll probably go that route now I know they can do it. There's plenty of work to be done on the car (and $$ to spend), so if I can avoid...

    Noob Question #1

Well, maybe I'm missing something, but if I don't have the keys (either of them) then I need to replace the trunk lock and both door locks too? The ignition is only part of my problem! So $15 for the ignition, $17 for the trunk and $21 for the pair of door locks- that's $53 plus sales tax...

    Noob Question #1

Yeah, I had thought about new lock cylinders, but even at Zone prices that pushed it up to $55-$60 when you add them all in, and I'm not sure how much of a PITA it is to install the ignition set- I'm more used to OLD stuff, where the ignition switch is in the dash (yeah, an old fart here)...

    Noob Question #1

OK, I've got the Cutlass uncovered, ready to move and... no keys! The car hasn't been moved in 7 years, and we can't remember where we put them! Back in the day my wife lost her set just after she bought the car, she was able to go to the Olds dealer and they cut a new set from her VIN- any...

    Help the Automotively Challenged!

Yeah, that's always my problem- a lot of the stuff I'm looking for costs more to ship than it costs. But Longroof's link for the yard search engine already kicked out a possibility- an 85 Monte Carlo frame only about 30 miles away! I'll have to take a ride and check it out but the price ($550...

    Help the Automotively Challenged!

Do you deliver! LOL! I was tempted to just head south and buy a whole car to haul back up here, but time wise work keeps me tied down. I've checked the big "automotive recycling centers" but if it's more than 10-12 years old it's a Toyota by now. I've got a couple suggestions for some real...

    Help the Automotively Challenged!

Re: Help the Aautomotively Challenged! Thanks guys! That last thread looks like my timing might be good (for once!). I was hoping that there was someone like AMD repopping sheetmetal, it looks like it's heading that way. And 307, I like your Regal. I can remember drooling over a T Type at...

    Help the Automotively Challenged!

Hello! OK, first I've got to admit it- I know very little about GM G bodies (I'm actually a Mopar guy- don't hate me!) But my wife's 84 Cutlass Calais has been sitting in my garage for way too many years, so I gotta learn what I need and where to find it, this looks like a good place! I'm Al...
