I have a slightly more modded version of what’s mentioned above but similar.
355 with aftermarket vortec heads (summit) with a XR274 hydraulic roller. On top I have an Edelbrock RPM performer and Demon 650. I also have a 2800 stall and a 700r4 with a Ford 8.8 and 3.27 gear.
The vortec heads...
There goes 30 minutes of my life I’ll never get back...😂
On a serious note, if the goal is to raise compression to get more out of a shitty engine, wouldn’t it be easier to pull the crappy heads off and have them milled down from 76cc to 67cc or something?
Hey guys...wanted to know what people are doing for connecting the original steel fuel line to a new aftermarket mechanical pump. I currently just have a rubber hose going a loop into the mechanical pump barb. It works but I assume you guys have something more official or better. Thanks in...
Sorry too many things at one time. Yes have you physically verified you have a 200r4?
Based on your pressure readings I would say you are obviously loosing it somewhere whether it’s the pump or a seal in second gear has yet to be determined. If you put it into “2” and run it out then try to...
Right, wasn’t sure how to show the (D).
Have you verified 100% that you actually have a 700? Just want to make sure we don’t overlook something simple. Google a photo of the 700r4 pan, it shouldn’t have any vacuum modulator deal on the back, and you should have been required to shorten your...
700r4 with 3.27 rear and 28” tall tires....with lock up I can do 85 at 2500rpm. Sounds like you may have it in “D” not “OD” so it’s staying in 3rd. Verify by checking the indents. Should be Park/N/OD/D
Wanted to update everyone.
I continued to drive without issue until it happened again. This time I unscrewed the gas cap thinking my newly installed vent may have been plugged causing a vacuum in the tank that eventually became too much for the pump to pull against. Well, needless to say it...
That’s also possible. With the larger Blazer booster the pedal required more “effort” than the stock master/booster. With both new the pedal is firm but in a good way haha
Just want to update everyone in case others are having similar issues. I installed the 2000 Blazer master cylinder and had a pedal that was too hard. So I installed a dual diaphragm booster from a 1990 Caprice. Pedal is wonderful now! Extremely responsive and firm but not hard like a lack of...
Good to know thank you! I revved it and it maintains pressure like normal. I’m thinking about replacing the pump if nothing else, just to rule that out as an issue.
Yesterday after about 45 miles of driving I get on the highway and around mile 5 I start chugging and surging. The engine died and I coasted to a stop, pop the hood and take a look. My fuel pressure was zero at the carb gauge (mechanical Edelbrock pump) so I pull the rubber supply line at the...
