    will 18x10's fit?

I agree on the quality control thing. On my beater wagon, I run 15X10 with a 275/60/15 tire when I'm not running the winter wheels and tires. I only had to do the frame notch on one side. :censored:

What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

Correct on all points Nick! Dad made the fadeaways in the early 2000s. He first mocked them up out of poster board to get a visual. Then he created wire frames out of round rod and bent the sheet metal over those frames to get the eventual shape. Dad learned how to sling lead back on the...

What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

Well, I've not posted much recently. Other than needing to replace the starter in my wagon last week, outside , in -3F temps, it has been toughing through another Northcoast winter. I have been working on this project that I took delivery of over Thanksgiving weekend. It's a 1936 Ford ex-5...

    Wheel backspacing question

I'm still working on my sister's 86 MCSs. Had a few setbacks. And am finally turning the corner on getting it back together again. She's having difficulty deciding what she wants to do about wheels. She's leaning towards upgrading from the stock 15x7 to 17x8. For those who have done this...

    86 MCSS Exhaust Question

Thank you for confirming. I did find the vacuum line that was previously plugged and the vacuum solenoid was either removed or it rusted and fell off. I had no idea what the vacuum line went to because the solenoid is gone. I've since simplified some of the vacuum line routing whilel I've...

    86 MCSS Exhaust Question

For the last few weeks, I've been reviving my sister's bone stock MCSS that had sat idle for about 10 years. Upon initial start-up, I discovered not a cracked, but completely BROKEN exhaust manifold. I was able to get that removed. This car still has ALL emission and smog stuff still on it...

    2023 G-Body Classic?

My sister went with her family. She couldn't take her car, 86MCSS, because I have it apart in my shop reviving it after it sat for about 8 or 9 years. She came back with several ideas which now means more work for me. :( She said there were about 25 cars indoors and about 150 outdoors. She's...

Updated with before and after pics -Let’s be critical , what’s wrong with this picture ?

Yeah, I think it sits just fine. Any more drastic and the driveibility starts to suffer. I think the car looks a little naked without the trim. I would certainly start with the trim around the wheel lips, and I can't tell if the rocker panel trim is in place or not. Having that could help...

    Battery Charger/Tender

I've had this one for about 10 years and run an IV to four cars at once, mostly in the winter. But I also keep one car on it whenever I'm not driving it since there is a constant draw somewhere that I haven't been able to track down yet. The link is just the model, they can be found at many...

    15x10 tire and rim fitment

I run 275s on a 15X10 on the back of my wagon. It does have a notch. Personally I feel a 255 is more suited for an 8" rim. 275s fit perfectly on a 10.

    Worst Vehicle Ever

One of my other cars is Ford based. My Dad and I were at the Carlisle Ford Nationals in the late 90s. We were walking past the Edsel parking area because that show always parks the cars in groups. I'll never forget his saying as we walked past, "Man are these cars screwed up!!"

    Worst Vehicle Ever

If anyone follows Vice Grip Garage, and saw the Bricklin episode several weeks back, that one should be pretty high up there on the bad list. From personal experience, in the early 90s when my first G-Body, 86 Grand Prix got totaled by a carload of drunk teens, the insurance company sent me a...

    HRPT 2023

There actually was... in the late 90s. It started in Boston and then down the east coast through NY, DC, Charlotte, Georgia and Florida. It was in the Fall of '98 I believe. I did the Long Haul on that one in another car I have. But you're right, they've not gone the upper Northeast since...
