FYI
The set button on the original cruise control on my 83 El Camino provides full time power unless the set button is being pushed. Which is the opposite of what you need on this 2002 pickup cruise control. To get around this, I used a relay to reverse the signal so that 12 v was applied...
Another question. The three wires that come off of the cruise switch go into a plug on my car. The brown one goes to the fuse panel. And the green and blue go out to the old cruise control. So do I run all three of those wires to cruise module? And not run the brown to power?
Thx.
Stupid question for you though. When I read his directions that you need either terminal D to work or G to work. But not both of them ?
Either input will do ?
On my plug I have 5 wire on the bottom row. And 4 on the top
On the bottom row I have a 1- grey 2-blue 3-grey/black. And my 4 th wire wire is a purple/white. 5 is black/white
I have a 2002 lsx Motor from a 2002 Chev pickup with the cruise control module.
I am looking for help wiring this up in my 83 elcamino. I want to use the factory cruise control wiring /switch with it.
Thx
No one in my small town has a cpu that can read the temp and change set points. They can trigger them to turn on an off lol. But no programming.
So I changed to a 160 thermostat, and the fan cycles now as it should
Thx for the input fellas
They are controlled by the engine CPU. I will have the set points checked. I just assumed they would still have the factory setting. And I used the same temp rated thermostat that it came out with
I just got the 5.3 lsx started in my el Camino.
I have a new three core copper rad with two electric fans. The thermostat is a 187 F.
My car heats up to about 187. One fan kicks in, then the other after a bit. Some times one kicks out. But they are almost always running. The car holds...
I have it figured now. It was the signal/running light socket I replaced. But I replaced it with a push in bulb instead of the 1157 socket. I used an led bulb in this socket. The led bulbs don’t allow for the ground to be provided to the side signal light causing the same problem as the...
I un plugged the back lights from the harness under the cab. To eliminate the problem being in the back part of the harness. Nothing changed when I disconnected.
I have an 83 elcamino that the signal lights don’t work on the drivers side. The indicator on the dash lights up and stays on
When the lights are on. The light for the signal/running light on the side of the fender is very dim. And turns on when it is suppose to flash instead of just being...
Ok. I have found my current problem
I installed a fuse block for the motor that has a master 40 amp power relay. The 12 v ignition wire to this relay does not have power when the motor is being turned over
Thank you everyone
I will fix and update
