Welcome Newbs! .......1/2 hour north of Whistler.

When I post pics of my stuff, I don't worry about it. But, when I post pics of customer's/friend's vehicles, I'll blank out the plate.

My G Body project is a combination of an El Camino and a GMC Sonoma.

I just warm up the button with a BIC lighter and twist it off with pliers. But, you'll probably need a razor blade to remove glue stuck on the windshield.

Well, what I'm thinkin' is that the carb itself is not the problem but, perhaps the installation or fuel delivery. Maybe if Lorenzo could post a pic, someone might see something not right.

Seems to me, from the OP, that two different carbs wouldn't be causing the same problem. Drain back would be my first guess.

Thanks guys, gives me a better idea. I like both of them, don't want to say which I like better though, in case one of you's offended :mrgreen:. The reason i'm asking is because I've got to get a headliner now, so I can modify, paint and install the overhead console I've got. Any others...

Still deciding on interior for the El Camino. Definitely want to go with red, though. I'm interested in different styles of door panels and bench seats and Pontiac dashes but, please post pics of any and all GBody red, dark red, burgundy interiors. Thanks.

Yeah, I've got a coupla Starting Line guns. Use them for primer and base, they work well and a fair price. BTW, Welcome!

Re: What questions should I ask/or things I should demand? You should look for a reputable shop, ask around from others who have had their vehicle repaired and painted in your area. If someone came into my shop and demanded this and that or told me how to do the job or with what products, I...

Chev, Buick and Olds called paint code 77 "Cinnibar" and Pontiac called it "Agate". Same color, same formula.

Can you be more specific, eg: year, model, 2dr, 4dr, wagon, elky, etc. Are you looking for GM part numbers? Exactly which clips/retainers/fasteners are you after?

Any of the 2 door G bodies: Monte, Grand Prix, Cutlass or Regal should fit.

GMC Caballero spotted in Whistler, BC.........

Sounds like bad electrical connection(s) to me. Maybe try starting it up and turn the lights on as well and wiggle wires around under the dash near the steering column.
