isnt that the truth. if i would try half of the stuff some guys try on their cars i would fail miserably. yet they can get away with everything be half a$$ed on their cars. if i would do the same... it probably wouldnt work by the time i was done loading the car on the trailer lol
the rear thats currently in my car has the spider gears welded. its set up with 3.42 gears. i want another rear end to set up for 3.73 gears. that one will get a spool. i dont like welded spiders. when i put the 3.42s in this rear a few of the welds were actually cracked. so ground a big groove...
is there a company out there that makes the 4 link brackets to weld to a rear end housing? the reason im asking is id like to get another rear end for the stock car and we have to run a stock rear end. mine being a monte carlo im stuck with a 7.5. i can get a rear end from a blazer fairly cheap...
well the end of a dirt track racing season means time for improvements one one of the first on my list is going to be replacing the drivers side floor from front firewall to rear firewall with 16 gauge sheet metal. the stock floor is rotted and patches were rivetted over the holes from the...
nos reproductions. you can make them work if you want to by drilling your own holes and using a self tapping sheet metal screw. because the bag of screws they give you are cheap as they come. and for 90 bucks for two they should fit exactly.
ordered belt weatherstrips for my 87 gp from nos reproductions. got to putting them on today and im not impressed. you can use one hole in the weatherstrip with a factory hole in the door....you have to drill the rest for the weatherstrip to fit properly. otherwise its extremely wavy and looks...
i think im going to have to play around with different length trailing arms this winter. make up two or three sets to set the axle in and play with them to see where it gets me. they have to be stock. otherwise fabricating adjustable tubular ones would be simple enough
ya we call them metrics around here too lol. i race on a track thats a hair under half mile. now i have also considered making a set of modified trailing arms to set the rearend of the car up for rear steer. how much this would help in the corners i would like to see. how much it would hurt the...
so not too many people like soft 8s. this is the cheapest set of cragar ss wheels i can find in 15x8 with the correct back spacing so i wont have to sacrifice anything as far as turning or rubbing

i dont wanna pop a ton of money in wheels and tires right now but i am going to upgrade to 15x8 cragar soft 8s. the question now is black or chrome....stealth or flash? ill post a pic of my gp here. it is getting re painted...same color. gm aqua blue metallic. windows will get 20 percent tint...
i definitely wasnt going to buy one lol. if i started making them i could prob sell for like 2000-2500 bucks lol. they must be paying their welders like 40 bucks and hour lol. i want the satisfaction of doing something myself that you definitely dont see everyday on a street car that actually...
id say its over priced. i was thinking about building better front geometry into the frame. with enough research you can come up with "theoretical" figures on what "should" work. i have several chassis fabrication books (yet to read all of them cover to cover yet lol) and take numbers and design...
