now i know 10si alternators have two different sizes but do 12si alternators have two different case sizes as well?

i was thinking of getting a 94 amp 12si alternator to replace the 10si i have now. it appears they wire up the same way so that shouldnt be a problem.

As you probably know. The 10si is a smaller unit than the 12 si. Other than that, the only other differences would be the clocking, or the mounting positions to fit various applications. These would be the differences that I'm aware of.

Seems that I'm wrong about the 10si and 12si being different sizes. I have come across an alternator with two lower mounting ears instead of the one large one. Turns out that I already have a 12si in my car that replaced the 10si.

Here's a link that might shed some light on the subject. http://www.madelectrical.com/electrical ... remy.shtml
