No I wasnt questioning how small Phoenyx's tires were I was just making sure Mega was taking that into account when he refferred to going over 100mph in third with a 3.73. I was betting his tires were much taller than Phoenyxs and as he stated they were.

between the eurothane bushings and the front end being 2 inches closer to the ground the gl handles what ever the 267 can throw down (next to nothing) not to bad. she doesnt mind bouncing the needle off the pissy 140km/h speedo.

Everyone here is insane... Haha. Fastest I ever went in a car with me driving was 135 in a 98 Dodge Neon R/T which was just about red lined when the computer cut in to shut the fuel off because it had a 130'ish mph governor. It was flat out terrifying, the car was all over the road. I've been up to about 110-120 in most of the cars I've owned... But my regal gets real hairy around 75-80 so I'm happy just to cruise down the highway around 65-70.

I remember back when my malibu had a 2.29 with a 2000 stall TH350. I was only 15 and the guys at the engine shop went way overboard on my engine. They were amazed a kid my age wanted anything to do with a muscle car, but then again I was in Maine where steel doesn't live long.

Anyways, they put my sbc 350 on steroids and used all circle track parts. The owner built motors for Nascar and had tons of left over parts. He threw an intake, reinforced pushrods, Isky Mega cam, etc. He didn't know the specs on the Isky cam but said it came out of an engine from one of the Nascars. So being on budget, me and the old man said "ah what the hell, put it in".

When we drove the car, the car would constantly jump and would be hard to hold it back with the brakes. It was like trying to ride a wild mustang (the horse, not the ford). Once I got on the highway, I would be cruising at 70mph in 2nd gear, then drop it into first gear at 4500rpm and that motor woke up! I took it as far as 3rd at 4000rpm before one of Maine's finest pulled me over. The look on his face was priceless! He told me his gun registered 181.3 mph and he was tempted from yanking me out of the car and kicking my *ss for doing it. Luckily he let me go but told me that I have the biggest target on my back now everytime I drove the car. For those of you wondering how squirrely it was to drive, it had a fully rebuilt suspension, new tires, and most of the drivetrain was new. The motor would red line around 7500rpm, as per my engine builders statements.

Wow, you must have some magical transmission...with those ratios, assuming you had 27" tires and the converter was locked up, you would only have been at 120-130 mph

:wtf:
Actually it would've been closer to 150 if the TCC was engaged, tach was accurate, etc. etc.. I hit 115 at around 3100rpm with 2.29s, 28" tires and a 4-speed Saginaw. Mine is far from a 'race' motor, but I'm willing to bet it could easily hit 150 (not that I would push a 30 year old car that fast without a serious suspension)... takes less oomph to drive a manual trans compared to an automatic ;)
