ive had my monte since i was your age, its been stock for so long (it was my daily driver). ive always wanted at least a 350 in it... but theyr great cars. and will probably get you laid more often then some one with a caviler. hahaha. good luck :wink:
-and remember, be safe... always put it in park before you get busy w the ladies. haha!

Thank you guys for the compliments! It really helps with motivation as you guys know stuff gets frustrating with working on stuff and sometimes you just want to beat the S*!T out of it. :lol:

Lol shoot I like to get busy with the ladies but hell no we ain't doin' it in my Cutty! I don't want all the stank in there lmao.

Looks like its coming along really nice. sick looking engine. im working on rebuilding a 96 vortec 350 for my monte. Its my first engine build so things are going slow.

Hey that's exactly what you should do on your first build! Take it slow. Even if that means it takes a couple weeks longer to do it it will be worth it because it will be better built.

Thank you man that means alot! Being 19 I really didn't think people would actually think I really put alot of thought and hard work in to everything. When I choose the wheels I had alot of criteria that I wanted to meet. I wanted something that would look good on the car with the old school muscle car look but not be out of place. But I also wanted something you don't see that often. With my build I'm trying to make nice muscle car changes but nothing that's over the edge I want it to be more subtle something that people aren't gonna think it's full out race car or a beater.

Who's ready for an update? I sure am! Well last weekend I got my car up on jack stands and got the old V6 mounts out then while I was taking out my computer wiring my mom got a picture of me working on it with the weirdest expression on my face lol.



Then Friday I went back to the guy I bought my block off of and get the Turbo 350 that was oringally on my block. Got the transmission, kickdown cable, and torque converter all for 125 bucks! The cool part is that he gurenteed it will work or he will refund me my money. I pulled the pan and drained the fluid it's spotless inside! Fluid was nice and red like new fluid and not a spec of dirt or metal shavings! 😛



So I after I pulled my mounts and wiring out I cleaned the engine compartment with the pressure washer and got everything painted up with a nice low gloss black paint.



Then I got my firewall cleaned up and painted



Also this weekend I got a free brand new Performer Rpm intake! 😀 😀



Last night I got the engine installed and today when I get off work I will be installing the transmission! Man the engine looks good in the car! 8)

damn this is a great thread.. im 25 so seeing ur 19 i feel like sh*t cuz i cant do 99.9% of what u have done.. lol cant wait to see what else u do..what color u thinking for the car??

Thank you for the compliment! 😀 But sure you could! Just take your time and go slow. A good manual always helps no matter what your skill level is. I've got alot of plans instore for the car. Paint wise I'm at a crossroads for a couple of reasons as I said in a post before I want to have a nice muscle car look that doesn't look out of place, but I also want it to be a sleeper and then my skill level. I'm debating on two color schemes. Royal blue or flat matte dark charcoal grey with gloss black rally stripes. Kinda like the streetfighter color scheme on Powerblock Tv's Muscle Car.

For the interior I'm thinking about having the seat's covered in vinal and changing all the interior to black. I'm probably going to ditch my console and either run just a B&M slap shifter or build a console and get a rachet shifter. I'm going to probably make a custom dash with aftermarket gauges then my cool little thing I'm going to do with it is the screen that goes on the opening of the cowl hoods I'm going to put a shift light behind that screen since this is a street/strip car. But it's gonna look slick and not be expecting it.

I'm going to probably run my exhaust to exit in front of the rear wheels. But I'm always going over my ideas trying to make them better, any imput on things to do,change or add I'd love to hear!
