Gm had a hemi, there was a 1969 Z/28 with an aluminum small-block Hemi 302

many of you won't know this but way back in the 50's and 60's if you had the performance parts book with the part number and got the right salesman you could have GM build you an engine with the internals and heads that you wanted....and for chump change based on today's dollar...

Since Roger Penske dominated the '69 Trans Am Championship without an Aluminum "hemi" 302, it doesn't appear to be worth the trouble.

The DOHC Olds motor at least has center plug heads. The Chevy motor is probably more of a semi-hemi.

Still had to wait until '97 before we saw a production aluminum SBC. Which still does fine without HEMI heads.

It's probably a bit cliche, but there is only one Mopar I want.

They recorded Dukes of Hazzard right down the street from where i work, at Lyons canyon, you can still go there and check it out. They built the General Lee's here too somewhere on Sierra Highway, which is where's the famous "Halfway House" you see on films and TV.
