Off of what car did those rims come from? What are they called?1979ratrod said:ive wanted to do one of these for a while so i guess ill start now. i bought a 1979 chevy el camino when i was 15, 3 years back for $750. i just started working on it about a year or 2 ago. it had a 267 in it but i put a nice 350 crate engine, 650 holley, edelbrock high rise intake, tuff stuff 100 amp alternator, micket tompson valve covers and some other stuff.

well there just threaded pipe, really thick. a bench vise wouldent even crush them so i used a hydrolic press so that squished them pretty good. if i were to do it again i would have bought a thinner walled pipe and one that isnt galvinized. then i rounded off the edges with a bench grinder and then drilled holes and wire brushed the galvinized stuff off cuz the paint would fish eye if i didnt anf then drilled the holes in my cowl and bolted them up. let me know if you have any other questions.youngdeezy said:wow those bars look like stock suspension parts. how did you get the ends to look so perfect? i can picture buyin the bars but once you cut them to size it would looked hacked and yours dont so drop me the trick if you dont mind sharing thanks.
