Looking at why you cut a big hole for the trans makes sense. My lt1 t56 has a lot lower profile mid-plate cover and shifter cover than the magnum aftermarket unit. My driveline angles weren't perfect either but good enough to not cut the floor.

My T56 went right in just had to cut a very small notch out for the reverse lockout.

If you are cutting the floor to make it fit your body mounts are shot and collapsed

Yeah, I’m aware of that now haha. No doubt the body mounts are trash. As stated earlier the only reason for cutting the tunnel up that much was because I was fighting the old polyurethane inserts and jacking up the transmission more than I wanted. I was trying to pivot the motor forward trying to line the holes on the motor mounts but never succeeded. Looks I’m gonna have to tackle the body mounts sooner than I wanted to see if that helps with clearance on tunnel and more importantly the passenger side head and firewall.

So, you're saying Holley designed a kit that hundreds of other people have installed that didn't hit the firewall, and yours is a special case? Go on........
Never said it was a “special case”.. Just that I’ve installed the motor mounts exactly how Holley said too and that I still can’t figure out why it would hit like that. I’m not denying that I could be at fault somewhere in the install of those though.

It really depends on just HOW BAD your body mounts are. Think about it: if they're just collapsed, that is your trans tunnel problem. BUT, if the holes are egged out and the body already moved, it could be a big problem. My buddy, Hooptiewagon on here, his body shifted a good inch, and almost all the body holes were trashed. It's time for project reevaluation.

The difference between my regal with poly mounts to my cutter with original rubber was pretty noticeable. Both are Holley mounts and crossmember. The trans on the cutter almost needed extra clearance for the 4L80e cooling lines.

You have quite the build going on. I see a lot of money invested, but I bet it will be something when it is going again. All you LS guys are sure making me glad I did not go down that rabbit hole!
