1979 malibu on CL W/ONLY 20k

I dunno man... this trim is just as degraded as mine, also the same colour, and I have 100k more miles, most of which have been outside I'm sure.

These things can all be explained away. The tape line I referred to could have just been a Friday on the assembly line, the rusty speedo could have been coffee splashed and not cleaned up, the black seat belts I was schooled on by Ribbedroof. But I would certainly be going through this with a fine tooth comb at that price, if I were in the market for a crew cab, that is.

I just don't believe that an unmolested car can look that good on the outside, but have so many signs of age on the inside. Really the only things that look good and aren't covered up are the seats and seat belts.

The pedals would tell the real story.

Only problem there is the rubber pads on the brakes can be replaced, and although gas pedal can too, it doesn't usually show wear

Which brings me to my biggest autobody pet-peeve: Paint your jambs/inners. Please. For the love of god.

Problem is, it's hard to do right, unless you blow the car apart. Which then leads to halfassery when most people try it without said disassembly.

I would say repaint...too shiny, wrong shade vs jamb, no discernable wear, and 43 year old lacquer doesn't look that good..looks more like the flat-ish jamb paint...and that area never sees daylight...the outside is usually pretty beat.

Sure, there are always exceptions, and I don't recall if they said it hadn't been painted or not.

10k for a 267 crew cab with 20k or 120k vs the guy on here the other day saying he paid $1000 for a repaired(and not great at that) with mismatched dye sprayed all over including overspray everywhere on a cutlass dash?
