My first car was an '84 Cutlass. The 3.8 buick gave up the ghost so I swapped in a '79 Olds 403 small block from a vista cruiser. It had the edelbrock performer package on it and it was a lot of fun. I had to sell it a year before I finished college and was left with a bunch of parts to projects that I never got around to putting on the Cutlass.
Fast forward 7 years and I was on the hunt for a small pickup, mostly an s10 or sonoma but I couldn't find one that was reasonable. I happened across a 1980 Caballero with two tone paint and racing stripes and the kid in me just had to have it. When I found out it was a factory 4-speed car that sealed the deal.
It's frustrating to remember that I knew something and then have to go scour the internet for the things I've forgotten. I'm glad to have found this site again and hope to be making some contributions soon.
