I wouldn't be concerned about the color of the plastic parts you find, the condition of the part is more important and SEM paint will bring them to whatever color you like and look as good as new, every plastic or vinyl piece in my car I either painted camel or black including the dash and center console.

I am glad to hear that the sem paint worked well for you. I am not opposed to going that route but like I stated above some of the stuff I have is just to far gone to bring back to life. Did you paint any fabric with it or just hard surfaces? I was bummed out there are not a lot of aftermarket suppliers for these G-body's. There were so many of these cars on the road but they are pretty scarce now. That is another reason I was attracted to building one. I don't think there is one seen on a regular basis in our town. I have been spoiled playing with my mustangs. You can build one of those things in various years without ever using a part that has been touched by a ford employee. Once again thanks for your response and especially about the sem paint. I have saw mixed reviews on it. A lot of the finished result depends on the prep work.

My original interior was light grey with a dark grey dash, I bought my buckets and did the rest of the interior to match.
I bought a few extra yards of material from the seat manufacturer and used it the get the rear seat reupholstered and I redid my headliner with it
along with using it to make my upper door panels and rear panel inserts.
All the fabric in my car is new so no painting there and my plastic and vinyl parts were in excellent shape but just the wrong color that is why I said find the best
condition parts versus basing it on the color of the part.

Thanks for your input. I see your from Michigan where abouts are you from? I live in a little town called Ovid about a half hour north of Lansing.

Your a probably a couple hours away from me, I'm in Warren just northeast of Detroit.
That must be a little town I've never heard of it.

Yup we are a little burg on M-21 in between St.johns and Owosso. We are about a hour west of Flint. I spent a little time down in warren. One of my old jobs used to send me to the Chrysler truck plant on Mound rd.

Another question- Are the Rear Sail panels in 78-79 Cutlass supreme the same as a Monte? I have a friend who has a 78-79 Cutlass that got nose dived into a ditch pretty hard. bent the frame on it. It is going to the yard in the spring so he told me to come out and take whatever I needed. I will be getting the seats front and rear and the Heat / AC / Evap case from it. If the rear sail panels are decent and will work I will take those while I am at it.
Thanks again.

James

565, I like your seats and the way the upper panels are upholstered. Do you have pics anywhere on the board of the interior?

The middle pic is how it looks at the moment but the silver gauge bezels and steering wheel are just are not working for me so I am installing black gauge bezels and my black steering wheel back on.

Damn that looks awesome. Great job putting that all together. I'm not sure what the colored switches do in the middle of the dash, but it looks knight rider- esque.
