hey guys, im a new to this forum, and was looking on the new users posts but it seems like mine should be in the build thread since i'm always doing something to it. okay let my start with an introduction of myself, i'm josh , i'm 20 years old, and i live in kentucky, okay, now for the good stuff, 1981 cutlass supreme, 63k original miles with documents, this car sat in a carlot garage for 20 something years. i bought it. and had loads of problems with the 260 4.3 v8 first it was the choke, then plug wires, cap and button, (you will laugh at the button that was in it, only god knows how it ever ran) (i will be putting pictures also) then one day i drove it to town (1 mile) pulled into the gas station and it died (no big deal, choke, or i thought) come back out, locked up. let it sit over night came back the next day and fired it up, can you guess what happened then? i knocked all the way home. i will post a few pictures now, and in an hour or so i'll come back and finish details on what i'm doing with this car. stay tuned.

okay so, after i got it back home, it sat there for a few days then i started pulling the motor out. its now apart infront of the car, every rod cap loose, 4 lifters were sideways and about 1/2 inch of gunk throughout the whole motor. trash. could be saved i guess but at 105 horsepower is it really worth it?

heres the part where i catch you guys up to date on whats going on right now, as of today im still waiting on an adapter plate from summit. i know you guys will want details on the new motor so here you go, 82 chevy 350 4 bolt main, mild cam, .30 over flat top pistons (i dont remember exactly what heads are on it, either 802 or 882 something like that) edelbrock performer rpm intake, holley 750 double pumper, long tube headers (pretty sure they're for a camaro, we'll see when we try to put it in haha) and of course the m/t valve covers. i'm no hotrodder but i like to kick it every now and again, we should put a poll up on how long my 3 speed transmission will last behind a 355 hahahaha anyway, your caught up now, heres a picture

Welcome aboard from a guy in "the ville". Nice to see another ky cutlass getting treated to upgrades that don't include hydraulics or 30" wheels lol!
Scott.

Nice, do you still have that one and just adding to the stable?
haha no i wish...things got hard working at mcdonalds getting no more then 20 hours a week with nobody to keep the lights on for me, i had put brand new head gaskets on it and i was at the very end of it, all it needed was oil, a good battery, and gas. some lucky fool stole it from me for $600 :/ this is my redemption cutlass you can say hahaha

Nice, sucks you had to let the t top go! I've had a couple of times in the 15 years I've owned my cutlass i thought i was gonna have to part with her, but it all worked out. Hang on to ole blue and enjoy it! Where in KY are you, just curious?
