The console is also from a Monte SS. I took the front coin tray off because of the gauges and got a new original GM lid from Mikes Montes. Sprayed the console dark jadestone to match the dash. Mikes also sells the brackets for the console and bucket seats. Great guy to deal with.

You can see the gauges in this photo.

Where did you get your dark jadestone paint?

I bought a qt of dark and a qt of medium jadestone SEM Color Coat from the local auto body supply. If you change over to buckets youre going to have to do the same thing. Theres a lot of trim on the seats that you will want to color match to the door panels. Console is matched to the dash. I would STRONGLY suggest sending a small piece of interior (A pillar, trim under the steering column) directly to SEM in SC. They offer free color matching and they will match it 10000000%. I just bought a gallon of custom matched dye for my wagon. The supplier tried to match the old color of my interior 6 times and couldnt get it right. SEM got it the first time. In the end I went with a different color grey (long story) and they sold me a gallon matched perfectly to the aerosol color that they make. Good folks to deal with.
As far as spraying the parts, prep is the most important step. The dye is ready to spray right out of the can. No thinning needed. Stir it up, put it in the gun and shoot it. It dries very quickly. You dont need a lot of coats.
I bought all of SEMs products with the exception of the adhesion promoter. I used Bulldog. Good stuff and it also comes in an aerosol. SEM makes a soap and a plastic prep. I used their products since its designed for plastics.

Getting some other project rapped up and getting back into my Malibu project. Disabling interior and taking chrome off. Next step is taking it to a friends shop where he has a stand to put the body on after taking it off the frame. Will clean and paint under body and sand blast, repair and paint frame. Will probable replace fuel tank, fuel lines and brake lines while we have the frame out from under car. Plan to add monte SS sway bars.
