You'd be buying an absolute headache. If he gave it to you there would be days when you hated yourself. Look at the effort and cash that he has spent on it and it's only worth $4500 to him...………………………..that's how bad he hates it. And a turbo on a 3800 when they were available supercharged? Nope.

The supercharged swap is damn near impossible on a rwd car. I've seen like 3 other f body guys do it besides me. It requires cutting the TB flange off the blower and doing a 180, custom fuel rails, wiring, ect, all for like 260hp stock.

I would go turbo if I were to do it again on my 3800 4th gen if I could route the downpipe out the back and not loose AC

I don't need another project nor do I have any interest in a car with a vinyl top but I did think it was an interesting build with a lot of money, time and effort put into it but in the end it is still an unfinished project car that would need a lot of work.

What would a reasonable turbo 3800 make compared to a stock 260hp supercharged version?

Here is what the guy sent me if this helps the guesstimate and it still has the stock 2.41 gear:

The motor is a 98' L36 3800 that is bone stock, just has a few small things done to the pcv system to make it work with the turbo.
It has 80# injectors and runs on e85
The turbo is a twin scroll holset hx35, I'm using two external Tial 38mm wastegates for it.
It's currently running about 16 psi in it with no issues. I've ran as high as 20 before and it's been great. Its best 1/4 mile trap speed was 109 mph, best ET so far was 13.4

Or hack a hole in the firewall/wiper cowl and let all that beautiful supercharger whine inside the car.
