I have almost the whole dash apart and I can't seem to get the gauge cluster to budge. Is there some special way to take it out or am I missing something?

1) re-check screws
2) unplug the speedometer

Thanks, I got it out tonight, I had a hard time with the clip.

Hopefully tomorrow I can finish removing all the wires I do not need.

Where do you unplug the speedometer?
Right where the cable enters the gage there's a clip. It's a little tough but once you hit it, it pops right off.

Some cars will also have an optical sensor that is for the VSS. THis takes a tiny socket to get off as it has a bolt head size unique to just that one part. It goes to the green translator box that s bolted behind the dash. This usnit runs bot the computer's TCC function, and also the cruise control in newer cars equipped with the "Cruise Control II" system.
