Interesting, look VERY closely at this "H/O" (cough cough) and you will see a lot wrong. I will attach a few pictures of the dash/door panels and of the underside of the decklid, where you will find a multitude of holes to reattach the rear deck spoiler and where you will visibly see the RPO tag was "reattached" too.

The interior, when was the last time you seen a H/O Oldsmobile brougham?? Look closely at the dashboard and door panels and an array of other clues in the video. Sad to see a this sold for $19,500, and in my own humble opinion, it seems to be a fake. I think people automatically assume everything is legit if it's on their auction block. Unfortunately, this goes on more than people know about, should be some kind of accountability held to Mecum, since they are not screening what they sell.

Wellston, OK
I'm sure they have a disclaimer that releases them from the lies told by the consigner

Except they don't spend the time on the "lower end" cars. Those are just filler for what they really want to sell.

It's built after January 1, 1984 based on the VIN, but it is an H/O. Or the trunk lid is. There's a possibility that there was an aftermarket spoiler mounted on there, requiring a slight modification to the hole spacing ? I dunno. That's weird. Also, they have at least ONE 86-88 reverse light in it on the passenger side. No good shots of the rear of the car to ascertain the deal on the spoiler. My bet is it's an aftermarket unit.

Engine compartment seems normal. No Hurst Lightning Rods. Ugly aftermarket hood lock, but whatever. The front bumper cover is bent WAY up in the front. Strange. Hood scoop is wrong. The SPID is original. They just taped it up, peeling and all, and re-painted the trunklid. The dash woodgrain around the radio is the right shape, it's just an 86-88 woodgrain pattern like the rest of the interior. Oh, wait, looks like a 1980 Toro wheel. Tt appears they used an 88 Brougham to steal the dash out of and the front buckets. The brougham interior door pieces are identical to the Calais pieces, with the exception that the H/O had no emblems applied to them. The indentations are there, but no emblem was attached.

I'm not sure I'd rock this car myself. Too much wrong with it. 19 you say? Not worth it in my book, but it ain't my wallet. I'm sure the seller is relieved that crapwagon is out of his garage and someone else's problem.

There's a lot wrong with that Hurst/ Rebody that's my opinion. If you go to the link that blk7gnx provided and look at the picture of the engine bay that has the hood lock. Then play the video and wait till that person opens the hood not the same engine as the picture. It's not that hard to change a Vin plate on a Gbody and add Hurst parts to it.

$19k for that garbage. Another example of why Barrett-Jackson and Mecum are a joke.

The more I look at it, I don't see any thing inside that's dark maple. Looks more like the '85-'88 code 79 claret on everything. As the sayings go "there's a seat for every @$$" & "a fool and their money are soon parted".
