Re: slow project

so im having a problem with my carb now keep in mind i am missing a coner bolt that holds it down. so the carb receives gas but its leaking from the side were i don't have the bolt you think that not having the bolt there is causing the problem. also my car doesn't want to start because its leaking out all the gas that its getting.

Re: slow project

I'm thinking if your car is leaking gas out the carb, it's probably better that it's not starting... I doubt that having a hold-down bolt missing would cause it to leak, unless you really torqued down the other three. Worst this would normally cause would be a vacuum leak, which is still a bad thing. Got any pics where you can show where the gas is leaking from? When's the last time the car ran with this carb? Goes without saying, but you're going to need to get to the bottom of this before you run or drive the car.

Re: slow project

the car was running fine until about a month ago. the only reason why i stopped driving it its cause i was fixing the oil pan leak and the valve cover leak wich i fixed already.

Re: slow project

so i got the gas thing good now i am not getting spark.
heres a stupid question can anybody tell me how the spark plugs go on a v6 cutlass please i really have trouble with that and dont understand it much.

Re: slow project

I believe the firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2
If the #1 post is not identified on the distribuitor cap, you will have to set the engine at top-dead-center and remove the cap to see which post the distributor rotor is pointing at (that will be your #1 spark plug post) Then just follow the firing order around the cap in a clockwise direction.

has anyone put a 302 in a cutlass or a 351 windsor?
You need to stop talking to your cousin with the Mustang about your car  DO NOT put a FORD engine in your GBody. I am pretty sure you would be banned from this webiste also :|
