1985 Grand Prix concept car?

I work at the gm tech center in warren. It looks like a car that used to be in the historic collection. A pilot vehicle or development vehicle might also have no vin as they are not supposed to be sold. I don't know how you would be able to plate it to drive with no vin. About the headers they look like edelbrock or some of the other emission legal headers that were available back then. It would not have solid lifters as it would cause all kinds of problems with the knock sensor. GM performance was developing an emission legal kit for the g body as they did for the f body. The ZZ3 crate motor kit called the 350 H.O. It was a 49 state package for the camaro including the computer, and all related parts. It ran a 13.80s and was emissions legal. The computer will fit into the g body and everything bolts up. I had that set up in my 86 grand prix with a 700r4 and a monte ss 3.73 axle with headers and a full dual exhaust and the best it ever ran was 13.48 @ 102mph at milan dragway and it would still get 20 mpg on the freeway driving carefully.

Any pictures? sounds like one hell of a Grand Prix, i dont know why they wouldnt want to keep it 305 powered...

The description mentioned on this page matches this car:

It is reported that a couple of "brass hat" cars were maroon, although the only one the author has seen was a prototype with a wild rear deck spoiler replacing the bubble roof.
The spoiler is the same style as T/A spoilers of the same vintage:

...but as mentioned, I'd want to see some paper work before shelling out any cash for such a car. I personally think the burgandy with beige interior looks great and honestly do believe it is what he says it is, but again... with a car like this, it's all about the paperwork, otherwise it's just a trailer queen GP you couldn't drive if you wanted. I'd like to see the VIN/serial number stamping as well - I don't know much about factory prototypes, but if that matches what typically happens with such cars, you're one step closer to authenticity.

The white paint in the trunk doesn't surprise me if GM was just trying out something different (keep in mind if the entire trunk is body coloured, it never got splatter painted, which means it could have been yanked from the line), but the original wheels should have tagged along with the car...

this is trully a special grand prix that gm built in 1986 they built about three of those as show car purpose and as far as I know they still have one in their own collection and sold the two other in the late '00 when the bailout happened to get some cash, they thinkered about those because not everyone liked the aeroback 2+2 gp rear pseudo hatchback desing but loved the front nose just like I do.
