Beautiful car BUT - lets see if he raises the bar.

what bar might that be?

Beautiful car, however, the price is still too high irregardless of the mileage and condition, certainly anybody that's willing to buy it for his asking price (or even a price close to his asking price) will keep it as a Collectors only car.....................and it wont ever see any mileage. THEN what you have, is a beautiful NEW-er car with dry rotted tires, and all the seals are shot.

I wonder if the current owner bought it recently and is flipping it for profit? Not really sure, though, though I would GUESS the current owner paid significantly less than $30k.

But this comment in the ad makes me wonder if it's a recent purchase: "I bought it with 1050 ORIGINAL miles and it now has 1400 miles."

That is just plain stupid. It's not an older Camaro or anything real historical. I say maybe worth $15000. I don't know where people get these wild numbers from.

Good Morning Guys; Another guy asking & or getting more than my asking price. I tried to congratulate 88HURSTOLDS on his win of the month (May & he's still up), I was too late as the post was locked . I mention this because last week on the velocity channel, Mecum auction sold a 79 Hurst Oldsmobile (very low miles) went for are you ready this $200,000.00! So Mr. 88HURSTOLDS your car is potentially worth a hell of a lot more than you may think. No offense 88HURSTOLDS but from my perspective a 79 Hurst 442 is just some decals (& extra torque?). From my perspective the aero coupe is much more desirable as they were made into real race cars. I would guess that the Hurst was produced in smaller numbers? But it isn't like you see an aero coupe everyday either! Then we get to exclusive & I will guess that my 2 door 9C1 is maybe the most exclusive "A-G" car made? And lets face facts, NONE of these cars from the factory were powerful, they were all a joke comparing them to the late 60's performance cars. So when I see a very nice original (very seldom) or see one posted, my ol'e brain thinks "that previous owner had NO FUN". Some of us just have to except that some car guys just like rolling art. And art is the most subjective subject I can think of. Bob Jr.
PS: Any of you guys going to Power Tour? I'll be driv'in mine, just the last two days.

I admit, maybe it's a bit of jaded reaction in me. Usually with cheaper stuff, but I see stuff on CL, then it disappears, then I eventually see it again in a different location for a MUCH higher price....

Reminds me of a late 70s Skylark I saw. Primer gray, rusty body, owner was originally selling it for $600, then reduced the price and put it in the "cars for parts" section. It ran and drove, and that's about all you could say for it. Oh, and it was LOUD! Cherry bombs. 305 2-bbl that had seen better days.

About 2 months later, I saw it in a different town for sale for . . get this . . $3500. Hadn't been touched, cleaned up, or anything. Boasting about how fast and powerful it was, etc. Eventually came down over the course of time to $1500, then eventually disappeared from CL.

I guess that stuck with me mentally.

Nothing about this car is immediately desirable to the average "blue collar" G-body owner for the asking price... but, maybe Rick Hedrick will swoop in to fulfill his Barrett Jackson dreams. Laughable.
