Yeah I originally was going to start it at the front of the header but creates a problem. You might not have enough room to reach the hood latch once you pop the hood.

So I moved it back so that it starts at the very front edge of the hood which still gets me the look I was going for from the side.

Thanks,

like the others have said , very nice. i always wondered how a wider cowl would look and it looks very good. I cant tell from the front picture , but you eliminated the "step down" parts of the hood on the left and right side and made it flush? Its hard to tell now , but i think once molded in the front point of the cowl will have a nice curve to it. keep up the work !

This is an incredible project. Can't wait to see the finished product. Was that W-30 hood new? I've been thinking about buying one for years but can't justify the $600 freight charge, especially if it will show up to my door like that one.

Thanks guys.

I bought a second cowl scoop to use for the filler pieces in my scoop above but I'm now rethinking the wider cowl. I set the new scoop on the hood again and compared it to the wider scoop and think I may just go with the scoop out of the box for now.

Took the car down to my neighbor's barn on Saturday to start the body/paint work. Walked down tonight to remove my EFI computer from the car and found that he had already done a lot of metal work and primer on the roof. What I've been contemplating on how I was going to do it, he managed to do in just 3 hours. lol

Also managed to have the car on the road for all of about 500 feet or so driving it to his house. Was the first time I had enough room to start giving it gas and found that I was going sideways just easing it into the throttle. Whoops.

It appears first gear is going to be a lot of fun. 😉

I don't blame you, hood can easily be replaced later. I can hardly wait till your done it. You have much more patience than me.

Looks good, also just cutious on your efi vs a store bought efi system. For instance you tune vs say edelbrock boly on efi?

You only have so much control over the bolt-on systems which is fine for certain applications. I wanted the ability to control as much as possible with my engine to help "tame" it for good street manners. The sequential port EFI which gives the ability to trim the fuel for each cylinder is invaluable. So is the full spark control. Makes a big cammed engine much more street friendly.
