Re: 1987 Olds Pro-touring project build *LONG*

Needed to make some sort of gasket to separate the aluminum bumpers and bumper shocks from the steel frame to limit any kind of corrosion between the two different metals.
Ended up buying a sheet of 1/16" thick vinyl rubber with adhesive on one side while placing an order of other stuff with McMaster-carr. Traced out the bumper shock onto the rubber and cut them out.
Used my cheapy Harbor Freight hole punch set for the first time to punch the holes in the rubber. Turned out pretty good for something you won't ever see. lol

Have an aluminum front bumper on the way and once that's fitted we're ready to start fitting the front and rear body kit pieces. 🙂

Just when I think you've done it all, you find yet another small classy mod that may not be flashy but hey form before function right lol. Keep up the amazing build man.

Thanks guys.

Started fitting bumpers today. Hood scoop has been riveted on and working on tacking it down tomorrow then fiberglassing to mold it in. Going to get pictures of it tomorrow evening.
Started fitting the rear FE3X fiberglass piece and will fit the front tomorrow night.

Got rid of the '80's looking fake scoop things on the side of the body kit in the rear:

Finally found an aluminum front bumper to match the aluminum rear. Should help offset all of the weight I added with the sound deadening and stereo. 🙂

Will also result in a smaller moment of inertia 🙂
