just finished installing a set of 2001 Camaro seats in my 87 El Camino SS. I had the seats recovered in a dove gray leather and Monte Carlo style SS "appliques" put on. Unfortunately i was going to swap in 60/40 power tracks from an 87 Buick Regal for the driver but the bucket isn't compatible so i had to use the existing manual tracks.

the leather is nice, the seats are a bit slimmer, lighter and sit just a little bit lower. the driving position is perfect for me and they feel more comfortable. they also make the cabin a bit roomier too. smells better too (old school 80s GM smell mixed with new leather)! i was worried the grey wouldn't match as the interior and existing buckets are a bit bluer grey but they turned out well and also make the SS floormats (which are a flatter grey) i have integrate better. i may eventually decide to modify the 60/40 power tracks to fit the seat but it feels fine the way it is.

if i had to do one thing over it'd probably be having the sides and backs of the seat a darker shade of grey but overall i'm very pleased.

Nice job bro. Looks really nice. How'd you get the SS appliques put on? Are they stickers?

thanks! they're "appliques" which is just a fancy word for iron on. they feel like cut suede. not sure if they'll last forever but i placed them where your neck would be so they should get minimal contact.

i found them on ebay. and they're an actual GM licensed product but i've never seen them anywhere else before or since.
