Ok, no worries brutha.

For clarity and everyone else, I still NEED:
4 speed console shifter and matching wood grain top piece with
P R N (OD) D 2 1 shift pattern.
PayPal ready.
Thanks
Donovan

If LAX can't get you what you need I have the 4 speed PRNDL with OD and the correct 4 speed shifter. As with all desirable G body parts these are becoming very scarce and are VIN 9 specific so I won't give them away. PM me if interested. I also have NOS shifter top plates I might sell for the right price and the cable bracket. I ship to anywhere in the US. You can buy new aftermarket inlays for the shifter bezel......Have you seen them?

BTW, Very nice score on the OZ code transmission. These were 3 year only found on 83-84 Hurst Olds and 85 442.

I had posted a request for some info on the axle tube stamping, and forum member Oldsmobile Joe graciously provided me with the info I was looking for. (Thanks again Joe!)

your very welcome. i'm very glad you saved the trans from the junk yard gremlins.

years ago i came across the same situation. i was able to grab the rear axle, trans, suspension springs and door panel uppers from an '86 442 at the local junk yard.

enjoy

Nice score the original OZ code trans, should shift just under 5000 rpm full throttle. Is that 8.5" posi? Either way, nice score.

Great score, Donovan!
It couldn't happen to nicer guy...😉
Now if you can get the parts you need without having to give up your first born, that would also be nice. 😀

Thanks for the reply. Definitely interested in the shifter, top plate and bracket as LAX has confirmed he doesn't have what I need.
Would you consider a package deal? I'm in Canada and not the US, so hopefully that's not an issue.
I'm not looking for freebies or charity, but like Jack said, if I could get the parts I need without sacrificing my firstborn...
🙂
Also, I'm sure you noticed I mentioned the shifter and top plate I need are for a console shift, yet you posted indicators for column shift?
PM sent...

I have an NOS 86-88 4-speed shifter plate if you are interested.

Price on the top plate? PM me if necessary...

Wow, 5000 rpm? That's impressive. Looking forward to testing THAT one out!
😉
And unfortunately no, it didn't have the G80 posi option on it. Just single wheel peel, but the gears alone will be such a dramatic improvement over the 2.56's I have now...

Great score, Donovan!

Agreed, and thanks Jack!
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, and in this case I was definitely lucky. The timing on this find couldn't have been better either, as I just finished building up a healthy lil small block to replace the wore out and hurt 305 that's currently residing between the frame rails.
😀

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Make sure you overfill the pan a liter even better, get a deep pan/700R4 or early 4L60E filter if you run it as is. The stock filter sucks from the top, not the best for hard launches.

nice score!

BIG *ss :bump:!!!
Still looking for these parts guys. Getting really close to needing them for my upcoming swap.

Please, if any of you have ANYTHING, let me know. Even if it's bits and pieces, this here, that there.

Still need:
4 speed automatic console shifter
Console top plate
200r4 pan bracket
Shifter linkage (off the stud on the side)

Having no luck whatsoever at my local salvage yards.

Thanks in advance.

It's just an opinion but if I were you I would have saved $200 for motor work / machine shop $ and used the column shift/ bench seat set up since nobody wants any of that stuff and it's basically worthless. I also can't stand the console cars because there's no where to put drinks in a sensible cupholder and it's really annoying if things fall into the shifter area. You will also find yourself wanting more informative gauges in the near future, which could mount in the ashtray area, unless you block it off w console shift. Budget for the things you Need in the future, not the things you Want first, or else wind up like those of us who have unfinished cars (me - lol) I was where you were at and bought stupid things I thought I needed, but looking back I ordered my operation backwards. If I could go back the motor is where I would have spent more, the interior less. For example I bought a $250 richmond posi and never installed it, which is $250 I could have deposited on a dx block I was looking at. The posi gears came up missing eventually, whereas the dx block would have been less likely to evaporate, cumbersome to a potential thief. Now my car is still slow and no posi. If I had got the dx block instead, I would be much closer to having an honestly better car right now.
