these dip stick tubes do not mount to the head, chevy or BOP. they bolt to the 2 o'clock bell housing to engine bolt hole. this hole is in different locations between chevys and BOPs. hence the different tubes. or at least the bracket on the tube in different, but welded to the tube.
Good catch. It's been a while. For some reason I was thinking of the older TH400 dipstick tubes.

I was going to use this set up, when I was planning on eliminating the computer from car.

I like absent of vacuum, the TCI adjustable vacuum switch is very sensitive and either surges or doesn't lock up if it isn't set right.

For the torque converter lock up I put in a new hi - low headlight foot switch for a late 70s vehicle to lock it up when I want.

Eventually I might change it but I do like having control of it. I can lock it up in third or fourth and I don't have to worry about it locking and unlocking because of minor surges or if it just locked before I am going to be slowing down. I know when I want it on.

If you end up with a Chevy dipstick tube, it can be used on an Olds, Buick, Pontiac. The bellhousing bolt that attaches the bracket on a Chevy won't be used on a BOP. Just tap that hole, bolt the tube to the bellhousing. There is a common metric size that shouldn't need to be drilled before tapping. (Don't remember the size)

I've only used the factory vacuum switch and combined with the corresponding brake switch had factory like operation. Which i thought to be perfect and also mindless.
I have no experience with the tci vacuum switch.
I've only done this to two cars, one with a 700r4 and the other was a 2004r. Both worked flawlessly.
On an operational foot note, both cars would unlock the converter when you lifted your foot off the gas, coasting. I don't remember if that's part of the tv cable function or the vaccum switch. But i can see how it may cause the the system to feel sensitive.

The TCI switch is adjustable for vacuum put out by different cams. It also has manual control which I have hooked to a toggle switch.
