I just posted something in another thread that caused me to look up the wheelbase of Miss Kitty. She's a 116.2 inches so on a tight track like that you did alot better than what the numbers show. That is a long wheelbase to get around that course.

I looked up the wheelbase of the other cars. The Lexus IS F was closest Miss Kitty at 107.5, Mustang was 17.1, Corvettes at 106.7......the rest are 104.3 and down....

If you want an example of how much a longer wheelbase can slow you down in corners we had one guy in a 1980 Ford LTD at a 3/8 mile asphalt circle track. It has a 114.3 compared to the G body that were a popular car which has a 108 wheelbase. The Ford lost spots on each corner cause that wheelbase made it so slow to turn.

On the real tight corners of the autocross I'm surprised Mike had such a good showing..... 🙂

Hellcat has drawbacks. And No. 747 is exhibiting them in full color. So what? That said, you still did a pretty good job with that bathtub on wheels. It's only going to get better. No one car can do everything. But enjoy it for what it is. We are! 🙂

While I am the last person to blame the equipment, I am glad (and appreciate) you understand and reckonize the Challenger... err... challenges. I am fortunate in having had driven similarly dimensioned cars in the past so placing it is intuitive-ish. For the sake of added comparison Natasha's Camaro has a 101" wheel base.

The good news is while yesterday's event was cancelled due to weather (torrential rain, lightning, tornadoes) I will be back out on Saturday for another round of sun and cones.

Found a few more pictures:

Thanks, I appreciate it. Having fun is first and foremost... especially in 2020. I had an interesting conversation with a guy at lunch on Saturday about how he was impressed to see me out racing it, and how we both agreed about how shameful it is that most folks buy these cars as "investments" and let them sit.

What am I supposed to do? Save it for the next guy?!

Revisited the intercooler sprayer today. Sourced a new pump (little heftier than a washer fluid pump) that can lift fluid a foot or so and a remote controlled relay.

Finished it just in time for racing tomorrow - let's see if it works.
