Your belt is on upside down.

Not from the position that counts - the driver's seat.

I was listening to an interesting conversation yesterday about how competitive the club is between classes by comparison to some US clubs (I am sure someone somewhere is taking offense to that subjective observation. Look at how trashy the drivers are in the Optima Challenge). You can see here how the D Class drivers are close to the A Class cars - if I was racing in A Class I would have finished very close to a heavily modified RX7. It is all apples to oranges except where the drivers are concerned.

I dropped the cold tire pressure to 32/27 F/R - and that stabilized closer to 34/28 once the car got warmed up. We essentially hot lap the cars by run groups - my first session was 4 runs in about 30 mins and second session would have been 3 runs in about 25 mins if not for an oil down. My quickest lap was after lunch - traditionally that has always been the case for me.

The club's photographer is very talented.

Decided to change up the pace a little and did some farts and craps. This is a hand-cut tester using some left over vinyl - I'll get some machine cut units later on.

Well you are not bored of the car yet I can tell that much 🙂

HC seem to be multiplying or I'm just noticing them more. I think my count is up to 3 or 4 that drive by my house semi regularly. None are having as much fun as you.

Who was it that said I would get bored of it in a year(?)? LMFAO!

I have a theory about that - the market saturated with people speculating on HCs (and parking them) and now they are getting sold off at a loss due to the impending recession (to unload the financial hardship/money owed since most are financed long term).

They've made 30-40k of them to date - not that special.

Oh and the newer Scat Pak cars look like the older HCs... so that adds to the confusion.

so that's what you do all day..... 🤔

When you live on a semi busy residential road a little ways down from a 4 way stop and spend a lot of time in your garage with the door open, you tend to notice every loud thing that drives by.

I have learned a lot of stuff I didn't care about before such as
-Every hybrid toyota makes a really annoying whirl sound as they coast to a stop during battery regen
-The amount of people alone, in their cars, wearing masks, is astonishing
-A shocking amount of people think driving on a flat or blown out tire is perfectly fine
-If I ever get rich I am going to start a free exhaust repair shop to patch up peoples rusted out exhaust. Mid 2000's GM W bodies, Honda's, and Nissans are the worst offenders. I rate Nissan VQ engines as the worst because they are so raspy.

I am excited/worried for when HC's are on their 3rd owner in the sub 20K used bracket and people in their mid/upper 20's that have decent paying jobs and can afford them. Most of my friends from HS or College that wanted a fun car who are in that mid/upper 20's bracket without kids have ended up with GT coyote mutangs or SS 5th gen camaros. For almost all of them they didn't grow up with anything that has power or spend a lot of time fixing stuff so they really don't have a ton of car control experience or know when conditions don't condone putting the power down (road looks dusty, below 50F on summer tires, ect). Mid/upper 400 hp can get you into trouble but 700 is a whole different level.

High HP stuff has been around for a while but like you said, FCA has PUMPED these blown hemi's out for the past few years and only show signs of increasing production. An 08 GT500, AMG Benz, or z06 is relatively rare, expensive to fix out of warranty. or still expensive and probably always will be. But a well used 100k+ mile HC (since it's one of the few high HP cars you can legit drive daily) with lowish cost of ownership is going to be a weapon to an inexperienced driver.

I'm excited for all the wrecked drivetrains that will be available in 10 years but scared at the same time.

HC ownership does look pretty darn fun!

Natasha and the girls stopped in briefly on the weekend to watch me risk their inheritance. Fortunately it was pretty uneventful. Regardless, you know you must be doing something right when fans show up to watch you race.

Their commentary is the best.

Bonus vidyay!
