I've never looked at both mounts at the same time so I will take your word they are close to being the same. Just bothers me that you say close, when close can make it a real pain in the *ss to get it to fit, especially when the correct parts are out there.

just got the motor pulled out finally,, looks to be that the200c trans wont fit the chevy 4.3. The bell housing is a bit bigger and wont mate up! damnit i dont want to go buy a trans. :blam:

Started cleaning the engine bay and a little paint on the chevy motor

Judging by your pics, you have a universal bell trans already (I see both patterns), you should be able to bolt it directly, no need for the adaptor.

*that looks to be the connector for the lock up for your trans.

are u sure? I hope so,, only one way to find out take dang thing out,, now that. connector for the lockup,, how do I rewire that back up while doing this swap? I have no computer anymore.

That picture shows the dual pattern very nicely.
Not sure about how to wire the lock up back in with no computer. I know that there are companies that sell kits to make life easier (jegs or summit), or you could wire it up to a toggle. I thought I saw someone had a write up about it on here.

So after removing and installing the frame mounts like 2 times I realize I cannot use the sbc frame mounts.. I took them back Because I realize If I put the mounts like in the sbc how to, it make the engine too far forward and I have like a 5 inch gap to the trans. I cant find clam shell mounts so I got some to be similar from summit ****ing hour drive. They were out of a lot of things I needed anyway Im using these mounts here http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PIO-A2142/?rtype=10 and they fit the stock buick mounts perfect. I first turned them forward and pushed them far front of the frame to have 5 inches gap to the trans with the engine. Then I put them in back in the stock location, one side bolts up but now the other side mount is too low on the frame. I guess I will take all frame mounts off and bolt trans and motor first then dry fit the frame mounts on the engine block mounts and let motor down and go form there if that makes sense. Hope it works.

got the engine and trans bolted together today! Now im on the motor mount issue any ideas?
