Hey guys need help on what kind size studs to order

I'm converting my 7.5 26 spline rear axle to a posi with the 28 splines. I want to retain my 7/16-20 lugs. The GN axles used sttuds with a knurl diameter size of.505-.509. Obviously they dont make this diameter on the 7/16 studs. I wonder what are some solutions.

From what I can gather i can go over the .509 and drll the holes in the hubs larger and press them in ??? Or I can use a slightly smaller diameter and weld them on. Any knowledgeable advice would be appreciated.

And one more probably stupid question. When measuring the lengths on wheel studs does "under head lenth" refer to what it says or the length under the knurl (basically the actual length of the threaded portion of the stud). thanks.

what car do you have that has the 7/16 thread?....I have a 67 rear end that had the 7/16 studs and I replaced them for the metric studs so you should find some 7/16 to fit without have to enlarge the hole size.

I have a 79 GP. Replacing the stock 26 spline axles with 28 spline axles from a GN. Would like to keep the 7/16 studs.
