Like classic "LT1 350" heads or like gen II LT1 heads?

yea the newer LT1 is completely different from the genI blocks, the heads wouldn't work because they use reverse cooling and some other minor things are different, but it wouldn't work, any 305 with 350 heads suck.. You can raise compression and maybe get something, but why would you do that? You would spend money that could go into a 350 and make power.

Yes you can put lt1 heads on a gen 1, But the cost is rather pricey you need to have 2 water passages used for the reverse cooling welded shut, plus you would have to get a carb intake used for the lt1, i can't tell you a price but im sure you are looking at well over 1500 to make it work, your best bet would be to mill down some vortecs for compression and go from there

forget that then what can i put in my 305 to make it go faster dont wanna go crazy since im not racing but just want my car to go when i need it to go lol and leave some marks

you could get some 601 heads with small chambers to bump compression. Change your cam intake and carb. Headers and exhaust if you dont already have them. Or buy my 327 shortblock and trw 30 over pistons 😉

Leave the engine alone and put some 3.73 gears in the rear.
