According to the info supplied to you by member "oldsmobile joe" in your other post "Anybody know or can guess what engine this is" it is a 77'-80' Olds 350.

There are some Olds guys on here that I am sure will chime in on the benefits of a 350 Olds the most obvious is that it directly swaps with the Gbody Olds 307 and adds more power along with the ability to build upon with some aftermarket support.

Its a windowed main block not as strong as the earlier blocks 68-76 but good for up to 250-300 HP at under 5K RPM with better heads 5,6,7 and flat top pistons, mild cam. I built a few over the years for friends and they were happy until one of the them went a little crazy with a 150 shot of nitrous and the crank ended up in the oil pan. Its a perfect replacement for the 307 and all the brackets will bolt up to it with no modification.

There should be a big 350 cast into the side of the block. Flat top pistons would give 9+ to 1 compression. The heads suck especially on the exhaust side and are crack prone. The stock cam is super lame. Early 350 heads with either the 6cc lf2321 or the new Mahle piston with a decent cam will make a big difference. Headers and dual exhaust is a good start and adds 30 hp.

Odds are that trans is a BOP Th200c, or TH350 if it's a 3 speed. A Th200c and Th350 look the same, a TH350 will have this lil vacuum modulator on the REAR PASSENGER side of the trans, by the output shaft. If not, it's a Th200c. If it's a 4 speed (D) D 2 1 then it's a Th200r4. BOP bolt pattern transmissions won't bolt up nor will any stock g body transmission (apart from maybe the GN/442 Th200r4s) handle even a mild 454. The late 70s olds 350s aren't the best, but they can be good runners as is said above. I personally would look for a 68-74(?) olds 350 and TH350 short shaft to slap in place, but that's just me.
