As many times as I looked at the transmission, I did not see that it was still leaning towards the driver like in the F-body. Well, not as much.

Re: 307 out 350 in. What did i do wrong?

Ok, to all the experts out there. I got one that's got me scratching my head.
I never noticed it when I put my engine in my car. Every time I revved the engine past 3000 rpm I heard the power steering belt squeal and then stop past 3500 rpm. I found out my water pump pulley is not lined up with the A/C and the power steering pulleys. Yet, the Alternator belt is right in line. It's the pulleys from my 307, so why is it off? How could the first pulley be in line and the two behind it be off? You guys got any thing on this one? :?: :?: :?: :wtf:

Did the pulley separate? just thinking out loud.

I love the Olds V8 EXCEPT their belt setup. Do you have spacer in place where the ps bracket bolts on near the timing marker? Looks can be decieving, get out your straight edge.

Nope It was a straight off old engine on new engine. This 350 is the 5th engine in this car, 2nd Olds 350, and 3rd motor I put in this car since I had it. I used the same pulleys since 2004. So I don't get the how it isn't lined up. I'll get some pics at work today.

You did use the same length water pump? I have never seen them separate but who knows?

i had to shim my ps pump mount where it bolts to the block to get it lined up i dont have a/c anymore

Hey guys, I saw it clearly today. the water pump pulley separated. I'm sure of it now. This is a first for me and I've been working on Olds motors since '81.

Drill holes and suck it together with bolts? I have never seen that before either. It may be time to find another set.
