I've been searching some of the posts for help but not sure where to look. I have removed the 307 from my 84 cultuss supreme and now that i'm looking at the motor mount bracket that is mounted on the frame, I'm not sure where to go from here. It looks like if I remove that mount from the frame I will not be able to start new bolts throught the bottom of the frame since it is closed in. I have chevy motor mounts that have a 3 bolt bracket to frame attachment and the original olds has only 2 bolt. Can anyone help me with what I need to do? Can I use the motor mount bracket that is already on the frame or do I need to use this 3 bolt chevy mount?

you gotta use the chevy mounts, they have to be the mounts for a car not a truck. they are kinda tricky to get in there because of the lack of room to work with getting the bolts up through the frame but I did it with mine, Ive got the 4 bolt holes on the mounts but i could only get 3 of them to go through, the 4th one is just hanging off the edge, but Ive been fine like that for a good three years now, around 400 hp no problems with motor mounts. however I did swith to solid mounts last year.

top front corners on the frame is a good place to start, the other 2 holes will line up, thats for the frame mount. like mentioned above make surethe clam shell that mounts to the motor is for a car not truck, i found that out the hard way on my first sbc swap. man i just made my self feel old considering that first swap was as decade ago lol 🙁

Thanks for the info. I was afraid you would say I had to use the chevy mount. Looks like it will be a pain to get bolts through. Is there anyway to tell by looking at the mounts I have to tell if they are truck or car mounts?

There is a differance between the truck and car engine mounts but I can't remember what it is. Visually they look identical but the holes are in slightly differant places. The acutal frame mounts are the same if I recall correctly.
