hello people; 1st post here. I posted this as a new topic but it's not. I did a search but I'm doing it again. It's from what people say is a common upgrade? The F body larger hollow SB should fit on a G body and in my case a 86 T-Type. I got one with bushing and new brackets from known vendors. I know people say they use the 36mm bushing with the stock GM bracket but I don't see how? The bushing is not flush to the bracket where it mounts to the frame. I did a search but no real answer was made. What have you done to mount this bar to a Gbody Turbo Buick or Monty SS?
thanks

hello; Well I guess I going to have to spend more money on aftermarket stuff? There's got to be an answer? IMO the stock brackets are far superior than the AM . There's got to be an answer? One answer might be that they just squish the s--- out the bracket bolts to make it work. That ain't right!!!

I've posed the same question regarding the use of the F-body brackets on a G-body, visa versa. I also plan to use the 36mm F-body (hollow) front swaybar. Several guys stated they used the G-body brackets with the 36mm bushings.
I may end up just purchasing the aftermarket bushings and brackets anyway.

I have the 34mm bar and got poly bushings from summit for an F body.

hello; Alrighty then a few nibbles. That's good. PontiacGP tell me was your bushing flush to the stock bracket? I bought the bar and bushings from Kirban and the stock new GM brackets from Hi-way stars. This set up give me about a 1/2" overhang where it mounts so the bracket mounting hole are not close enough to the frame for my liking. Was your's like that? If so what did you do? I don't see it working.
thanks for your input

hello; Well what's the answer? I do have 16'' rims but lets keep talking about the SB and bushing.

I reused my factory gbody brackets with the now poly bushings with the factory Fbody 36mm hollow.
