Just so happens I love the 306s is my favorite cam, I run one in my Regal for the past eight years. I have tried bigger but with my combo I've come back to it. I've got a stock block 350(L-82) w/ 2.02 iron heads, and 2.02 Edelbrock alu heads that ran the same ( 7.15 1/8th and 11.20's) T400, 4500 stahl, 4.30 rear. The Sonoma has a 355 w/ 12 to 1 pistons /w 6in rods and crane roller 625 lift and 256/266 dur @50 cam w/ 220 runner alu heads and a 456 gear. It runs 6.60's in the 1/8th and 10.30's 1/4. Hope this gives a little insight and it's interesting that the Regal can leave from a dead idle w/o a problem.

Thanks.. both are really nice builds. Do you drive the regal in the street with that stall converter? If so how do you like it. I was thinking about going that route but wasn’t sure about drive ability. How do you think the 306s would work with my given setup?

It has been driven on the street and seen Woodard a few times (but not a street car). It's got a good converter and really no different than a regular car, trans temp doesn't exceed 200. I think the 306s would work but please don't take my word for it, I'm race orientated. You need to decide where you want to make power. As I said you need to chat with Cam Motion about what you have, it's a weird grind. I was speaking about the engine in the vid would make over 600 with the right cam but yours will too. As far 230 heads working well on a 355 I don't see it. The 2.08 valves would be shrouded with the small bore and would have to spin it to make power. What a car feels like and what it does is deceiving.

I spoke with cam motion today and they really couldn't tell me anything besides the info that I previously posted. From the advice I've been getting I don't think I'm going with that cam besides it's not in the motor yet, just 1 of 2 I had laying around. Other is an old Elgin 1090p. I'm really interested in the 306s but if you have a better recommendation for me please feel free. Just trying to make the most power out of the given setup. Thanks

Preferably mechanical for price reasons. I have roller and solid lifters
Since you have the roller lifters I would be looking for a roller cam, maybe with similar specs to the Comp 306.

Wow, they grind a cam and can't give you ant idea what it does ??? The biggy here is where you want to make power which the cam will dictate. The Regal has 190 cc runners but you have 35 more cubes with compression. Not trying sway you one way or the other just want you to make a good choice for the driving you will be doing. You might want to talk with some people to help you decide. I know a few people who have used Chris Straub (I personally haven't) and been happy with. Your going to be putting down some power, I hope you have a rear end to handle it. As 565 said you might want to step up to a roller and save yourself the the trouble of a cam break-in which some people dread. I did make a little vid how easy it is using nothing but the valve guide seals to hold the valve up.
