no pics but the front of valve cover is 1 inch more to pass side than the rear so fan hits the shroud on the pass side.also the steel mount on the frame are not straight they are angled which is why the engine is cocked.cant find a 85,86,87 to look at with a 4.3 think they are in the wrong holes on k member.was like this when I bought car..cant find a picture of frame mount position thankAny pics of this? I can't think of a reason for this.
Maybe it's an illusion.
Measure from the throttle body center point to each fender lip.
Possibly a collapsed engine mount or misaligned fenders/bodywork?
The only reason engines were off center from the manufacturer was for clearance for exhaust manifolds at the steering column. (60's Dodges with the 440 or Hemi or Mustangs with a big block come to mind)
I definately think you are on the right track. Either the mounts are wrong or they are in the wrong holes in the crossmember.no pics but the front of valve cover is 1 inch more to pass side than the rear so fan hits the shroud on the pass side.also the steel mount on the frame are not straight they are angled which is why the engine is cocked.cant find a 85,86,87 to look at with a 4.3 think they are in the wrong holes on k member.was like this when I bought car..cant find a picture of frame mount position thank
I just looked up '87 Elco 4.3 motor mounts on RockAuto.com. They look different from SBC mounts. In fact, there is a left and a right mount listed. Did you happen to use 350 mounts or get the left and right reversed?
