The engine has plenty of life left and i know getting rid of the awful exhaust design these had originally will boost power by a lot

That's only 135HP engine and if you managed to get a 5% increase your talking 6-7 HP and that would be @ upper rpm.

Youre most likely right. But I still want to get rid of the old exhaust system

Wow. Can't say the last time i heard a Elco with a factory 4.3! That's gotta be one of very few!!!
I plan on doing Headers on my 231.

It apparently is. No one made a header for them. Ill just go with a s 10 header I suppose

As an Oddball myself I want a 5.7L Olds Diesel Elco Despite the Rep...

I guess I'm an oddball too, though. I've always thought the Olds diesel would be fun. So even there ....
